1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or using Migra Kreyol, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms form a binding contract between you and JRICKSS Financial Services LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company.
If you are using Migra Kreyol on behalf of someone else (for example, a family member or a client at the law firm where you work), you confirm you have their permission and authority to do so.
2. About Migra Kreyol
Migra Kreyol is a case tracking tool for people with U.S. immigration matters. We let you save USCIS receipt numbers, EOIR alien numbers, and CBP I-94 numbers in one place, look up the status of those cases from official sources, and receive notifications when something changes.
Migra Kreyol is not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice. We are not affiliated with USCIS, EOIR, ICE, CBP, the Department of Homeland Security, or any U.S. government agency. Information we display is informational only. The official government notice you receive in the mail or through an official portal is the document that controls legally.
3. Who can use Migra Kreyol
To create an account you must be 18 years of age or older and capable of entering into a binding contract. The service is intended for people in the United States and U.S. territories, although you may access it from elsewhere as long as your use complies with the laws that apply to you.
The service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
4. Your account
You are responsible for the activity on your account. Keep your password private. Do not share your account with someone whose interests differ from yours. If you suspect someone is using your account without permission, change your password and email us at customerservice@jrickss.com.
You are responsible for the case identifiers (receipt numbers, A-numbers, I-94 numbers) you enter. Enter only identifiers that belong to you or to a person who has authorized you to track their case.
5. Acceptable use
You may use Migra Kreyol to track your own cases or cases you are legitimately helping with. You may not:
- Look up cases for people who have not authorized you, including using random or guessed identifiers.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the case data we display, beyond your own use.
- Scrape, copy, or otherwise extract data from Migra Kreyol to feed another service.
- Attempt to break, reverse engineer, or interfere with the service, our infrastructure, or our security.
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose or to facilitate fraud, harassment, identity theft, or harm to anyone.
- Submit malicious code, spam, or content you do not have the right to submit.
- Misrepresent your identity, your affiliation, or the authority you have to act on behalf of another person.
- Use automated tools to register accounts, run lookups at a rate beyond reasonable personal or professional use, or otherwise stress our infrastructure.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. If your behavior could harm another user, we may act first and explain later.
6. Subscription plans and billing
Migra Kreyol offers a Free plan and paid plans (Pro, Solo Lawyer, Firm). Current plan details and pricing live on the Pricing page.
How billing works
- Paid plans are billed monthly or annually depending on your choice.
- We use Stripe to handle payments. Stripe stores your card details on your behalf; we never see your full card number.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price.
- We email you a receipt after every successful charge.
- Annual plans receive a stated discount versus paying month to month.
Cancellation
You can cancel any time from your account or by emailing customerservice@jrickss.com. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. You will not be charged again unless you reactivate.
30-day money-back guarantee
If Migra Kreyol does not work as described and we cannot fix it for you, we refund your most recent payment in full when you ask within 30 days of that payment. Email us at customerservice@jrickss.com with your account email and the date of payment.
Changes to pricing
If we change the price of an active subscription, we email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect. You can cancel before the new price applies. Active subscribers keep the price they signed up at for at least the next 12 months unless they cancel.
7. Your content and case data
Anything you enter, upload, or generate while using Migra Kreyol is your content. You keep ownership of it. By using the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and process your content only as needed to provide the service to you. Examples: we display your case status back to you, we send notifications you opted into, we keep an audit trail of changes for security and your reference.
We do not use your content for advertising, AI training, sale, or any other purpose. See our Privacy Policy for details.
8. Our content and brand
The Migra Kreyol service, including the website, the dashboard, the browser extension, the brand, the logos, the copy, the design, and the underlying code, is owned by JRICKSS Financial Services LLC or our licensors. You may use the service as intended. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of our content without our written permission, except for normal use of the service.
9. Not legal advice, not a law firm
Migra Kreyol is informational software. We are not a law firm. We do not give legal advice. Our information may be incomplete, delayed, or outdated relative to the official government record. For decisions that affect your immigration status, your removal proceeding, your asylum case, or any other legal matter, consult a licensed immigration attorney or a representative accredited by the Department of Justice. The court notice or official USCIS letter is the document that controls legally.
The asylum clock view in Migra Kreyol is a helper, not a definitive count. The official asylum clock is maintained by USCIS and EOIR.
10. Service warranty disclaimer
We work hard to keep Migra Kreyol accurate, fast, and available. We cannot promise it will be perfect. The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Outside data sources, such as the USCIS Case Status API or EOIR, may be slow, wrong, or unavailable at times; we cannot guarantee their accuracy.
11. Limit of our liability
To the extent allowed by law, JRICKSS Financial Services LLC, its officers, employees, and contractors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or lost goodwill, even if we have been told that such damages might occur.
For any direct damages, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Migra Kreyol is limited to the greater of 100 U.S. dollars or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim.
These limits do not apply to gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. You indemnify us
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JRICKSS Financial Services LLC from any claim, loss, liability, or expense, including reasonable attorney fees, that arises from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the service, or your unauthorized lookup of another person's case data.
13. How either of us can end this
You can stop using Migra Kreyol any time. Close your account from the dashboard or by emailing us. We delete your data per our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially violate these Terms, if your account is being used to harm someone, or if continuing to provide service to you would put us in violation of law. If we end your access, we tell you why unless the law forbids us from doing so, and we refund any unused prepaid period of a paid plan, except where you were terminated for fraud or for harming others.
14. Changes to these Terms
If we make a material change to these Terms, we will:
- Email every active user at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
- Post a plain-language summary of what changed.
- Require your active consent (a checkbox) before you can continue using the service after the effective date.
- Archive prior versions and provide them on request.
Small edits (a typo fix, an updated contact phone) may happen without notice. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Federal law applies where it preempts state law.
Before filing a lawsuit, you and we agree to try to resolve disputes informally for 30 days. Email customerservice@jrickss.com with the words "Notice of dispute" and a clear description. If we cannot resolve it within 30 days, any lawsuit must be filed in the state or federal courts located in Essex County, New Jersey, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
16. Other legal points
- No assignment by you. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account to anyone else without our written permission.
- Assignment by us. We may assign these Terms to an affiliate or to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of the Migra Kreyol product, subject to the notice requirements in our Privacy Policy.
- Severability. If a court finds any part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, that does not waive our right to enforce it later.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about Migra Kreyol. They replace any prior agreement on the same subject.
- Notices. Notices from us will be sent to the email address on your account or posted in the dashboard. Notices from you should be sent to customerservice@jrickss.com.
- Headings. Section headings are for convenience and do not affect interpretation.
